Abstract

This article explores the study of the Sira (biography) of Prophet Muhammad in the Western academic context during the 21st century. The Sira serves as a crucial historical and religious text in Islam, providing insights into the life, teachings, and character of the Prophet Muhammad. Over the past two decades, there has been a growing interest among Western scholars in understanding the Sira and its significance. This article examines the trends, methodologies, and key contributions in the study of the Sira in the Western world, highlighting the diverse perspectives and interdisciplinary approaches used by scholars. The article concludes by emphasizing the importance of continued research on the Sira to foster cross-cultural understanding and promote interfaith dialogue.
